Quality Assessment Gibraltar

Victoria Stadium is situated in Bayside Road on Gibraltar. By order of the Gibraltar Government Sports Department, ISA Sport once again performed a triennial quality assessment here at the beginning of March.

Victoria Stadium among other things consists of an athletics track, an artificial turf football pitch, an artificial turf hockey pitch and a practice corner. ISA Sport performs a quality assessment here once every three years and assesses the sports venues on the basis of the prevailing standards.

This time, the Gibraltar Government Sports Department wanted to establish what the remaining life of the sports venues is, so that they can start to invest in the refurbishment of one of them on time.

The triennial quality assessment is extremely important, especially because the football pitch is used very intensively. It is being used by schools and clubs from early in the morning until late at night for a total of around 4,000 hours a year. As a result, it not safe to assume that the usual amortization of approximately ten years will apply.

Victoria Stadium does not hold any secrets for ISA Sport. The company has been carrying out the inspections of new installations and performance of quality assessments since 1991. ISA Sport owes this assignment to Van Kessel, the contractor of the sport venue.
